CSL - Chocolate Collection

Food Photography
Project Overview
Project Name: The CSL Chocolate Collection Client: Cacoa Sainte Lucie (via Hi-Rise Design Studio) Featured Products: Artisanal Chocolate Banana Bread, Dark Chocolate Fudge, Boutique Truffles & Bon Bons, and Signature Giant Chocolate Cookies. The Vibe: High-clarity, luminous, and sophisticated. A "bright and stunning" aesthetic designed to make every ingredient look premium and every texture look touchable.
My Contributions
Lighting Architecture: I designed a high-key, bright lighting setup that eliminated muddy shadows, a common challenge when shooting dark chocolate. The goal was to ensure the deep tones of the cacao looked rich and inviting rather than flat. Creative Direction & Prompting: I managed the "on-set narrative," directing the placement and "interaction" of the baked goods to ensure they looked abundant and expertly crafted. This included directing the "hero" placement of the truffles to highlight their intricate designs. Photography & Texture Capture: I focused on capturing the specific "finish" of each item, from the moist crumb of the banana bread to the silky sheen of the bon bons. Ensuring the viewer could almost "feel" the product through the screen.
Project insights
Hi-Rise Creative
  • Overcoming "The Chocolate Challenge": Chocolate is one of the most difficult subjects to light because it is both dark and reflective. By using a bright, high-clarity approach, we transformed potentially "heavy" items into light, elegant, and aspirational treats.
  • The "Looming" Effect of Detail: For high-margin items like artisanal truffles and cookies, the macro-detail is the selling point. Highlighting the "imperfections" (like the crack in a fudge piece or the grain of a cookie) actually builds trust with the consumer, as it proves the "hand-made" quality of the brand. This shoot stands as a blueprint for how HRC handles luxury confectionery and bakery brands.
